One third of Norway is located in the Arctic Circle, so the Norwegian diet is inseparable from all kinds of aquatic products. Norwegian fish and shrimp products come from the pure North Sea, where the environment and water quality and ocean temperatures grow out of the fish and shrimp have a natural good quality. Norwegian Salmon
Norwegian salmon can be steamed, fried, boiled or baked in a variety of ways, and the most special is smoked salmon. The delicate flesh of salmon, served with berries and a spicy and sour mustard sauce on bread or baked potatoes, with a bottle of cold beer, can be considered a delicacy on earth. A famous dish in all Norwegian restaurants is called soda fish, a delicacy made from Norwegian salmon. The salmon is first marinated, then when the fish is tender it is placed in water to leach out the marinade, sliced and cooked on a plate, topped with lard and served with mashed soybeans, potatoes, mustard sauce and pancakes.
Lye marinated cod
Cod is a cold-water groundfish, and cod dishes are fresh whether boiled or fried. There is also dried codfish (stockfish), which is chewy and salty. Lutefisk is a traditional Norwegian Christmas dish in which dried cod is softened in water and lye and then cooked or smoked. It smells soapy and pungent and may be unacceptable to first-time eaters, but it is the best of Norwegian seafood dishes and is loved by Norwegians.
Reindeer meat
Reindeer is a sturdy, migratory polar animal that migrates through the cold mountains and has a low fat content and high nutritional value. Reindeer meat stew is a good way to cook the chopped meat until the meat is crispy and juicy, then served with mashed potatoes and sweet red plum sauce, which is very tasty and has a soothing effect on the blood, leaving you with a warm feeling afterwards.
Whale meat
In Norway, it is not uncommon to eat whale meat, which tastes a bit like veal and not like fish. After all, whale is not a fish, but a mammal.
Norwegian shrimp
